Toronto police identify 15-year-old who died after 'tragic' stabbing at high school

Toronto police have identified the person who died from a stabbing at a high school in North York as 15-year-old Maahir Dosani.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at Victoria Park Collegiate shortly after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Upon arrival, police said they located three victims.

They said Dosani, who was stabbed in the torso, died in hospital.

The other two victims, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 19-year-old man charged with second-degree murder was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Toronto police are appealing to the public for any photos or videos taken before, during, or after the incident, which they're investigating as a homicide.

In a post on Twitter, Ontario Premier Doug Ford said his thoughts are with Dosani's family.

"Our schools should be a safe place for all students," Ford wrote. "If anyone has information about this tragic incident, I urge you to contact Toronto Police."
