London, Ont., police identify cyclist killed in hit-and-run

LONDON, Ont. — Police in London, Ont., have identified the victim of a fatal hit-and-run over the weekend.

The London Police Service says reports came in at around 4:40 a.m. on Sunday of a male hurt in what appeared to be a motor vehicle collision.

Police say 29-year-old Jibin Cheruvilputhenpurayil Benoy of London was riding a bike at the time he was hit and was pronounced dead in hospital.

Police also updated their description of the suspect vehicle and say they are looking for a blue sedan, possibly four-door, with what is described as a loud muffler.

Investigators say the vehicle is believed to have significant damage to the front end, hood and windshield.

Police are looking to speak to people with video footage or anyone who was on Hamilton Road in London between 4:30 and 4:45 a.m. that day.
