Our hearts are broken at the sudden loss of our son, Jacob Robbins, who died suddenly on Monday, January 16th 2023 at the tender age of 24. Beloved son of Jamie Robbins and Andrea Di Tullio, stepfather Cory Leavitt and stepmother Helen. His sweet baby brother, Teo, who would always greet Jacob at the door after work. A cherished grandchild of Millie and Fred Robbins, Eddy and Elizabeth Di Tullio, and step-grandparents of Paul and Laurie Leavitt and great grandparents Gail and Clifford Badour. Loved nephew of Tim and Barbara Robbins and Antonio and Lesley Fortunato. Adored great nephew to Christine Rivers, Marlene Mansel and Terry Badour. He also leaves behind his first cousins Grace and Sophie Robbins and Elizabeth Rose and Emelia Fortunato as well as his many second and third cousins.

Born on the exact day and month of his mother, Jacob shared a special and unbreakable bond with her which she will now carry forever. As well as his father and their shared love for 90s alternative music, Star Wars and scenic road trips. Jacob always spoke so highly of Helen, whom he would tell everyone what an incredible stepmother she was. Jacob looked up to his stepfather Cory, and they shared a close and trusting 19 years together, full of much laughter and love. He loved his baby brother Teo dearly and would take every opportunity to spend quality time with him.

Jacob was a friend to anyone who met him. His genuine, kind-hearted nature always shone through, and his beautiful loving smile would light up the darkest of rooms.  He often went out of his way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Everyone felt better after being in the presence of Jacob, especially his family.

Jacob had a passion for luxury automobiles. The Bugatti Chiron was his favourite. Without hesitation, Jacob could recite in-depth knowledge about any vehicle, leaving everyone in awe. His dreams were to enter the Automobile business and work his way to the top where he’d be working with Supercars and Hypercars. He had a solid plan to achieve these dreams which were to begin this spring.

Jacob loved being with family and close friends and spent all his spare time with dad, mom and his best friends Tanner Turcotte of Timmins and Reuben Escalona of North Bay, who were like brothers to him. He loved his job and spoke very highly of his work partners at Timber Mart in Powassan. His work ethic was impeccable. He prided himself highly on reliability and responsibility.

Special thanks to Dr. Harman and Dr. Meyer and the trauma team at North Bay Regional Health Centre who attended to Jacob in his last moments and extra special thanks to Nurse Shelly who cared for us upon our arrival. Your tenderness in this very difficult time was so much appreciated. All of you are blessings in the work that you do.

Finally, we take solace in the knowledge that he is in God’s hands, and that his Nonno Eddy was at the gates of Heaven ready to receive him. In the end, we can cherish our memories of Jacob, his life, and the love that he brought into all our lives. We will wait to be reunited with him in time. He is a special soul and who will never be forgotten.

Jacob’s family will receive visitors at the Whispering Pines Funeral Home (15 King Street Powassan Ontario) on Sunday January 22nd 2023 from 12noon to 3pm. Donations are suggested to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or SynGAP Research Fund and would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Lunch and beverages will be provided for guests during the service. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
