July 27, 1971 ~ November 26, 2020 (age 49)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of a dear son and brother, Larry, at the age of 49 at the Ottawa General Hospital on November 26th, 2020 after a lengthy illness with Leukemia.

Predeceased by his mother Rejeanne (2011), he is survived by his father Victor (friend Liliane) his brothers Gilles (Gilberte), Denis (Juliet), Andre (Maria), as well as nieces and nephews.

Larry worked with Loeb IGA, Super C and Food Basics mostly in the produce section for 25 years where he became well known by many regular customers. In 2013, his work career ended due to ongoing illness.

As a youngster, Larry was very active in many organized sports thus providing many hours of entertainment for his family in doing what he loved best. Larry enjoyed playing hockey and he certainly was not shy about knocking on doors to organize a street hockey game. As an adult, Larry continued to be a sports enthusiast up until his passing. When Larry was watching TV it was all about sports. His knowledge of most sports or players and statistics was absolutely remarkable.

Larry also took pride in lending a helping hand to seniors by shoveling their driveways while visiting others at the nursing home. When someone he knew had passed away he would frequently go to the Funeral Home to pay his respect to the grieving family. At Lissa Place Condominiums, it was always a pleasure for Larry to help residents carry their groceries to the apartment.

We wish to extend our sincere thanks to all the Doctors and Nurses at the Timmins District Hospital, The Ottawa General Hospital, The Sudbury Regional Hospital (Northeastern Cancer Centre) The Bayshore Nurses, and all other Healthcare Providers for your care and compassion during Larry’s illness. To Larry’s long time physician, Rosanna Furletti, a very special thank you for caring for our son.

Cremation has already taken place. In light of the current COVID Pandemic a funeral will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to the Hospitals above, your local Food Bank, or Charity of your choice.
