MAINVILLE, Irene (nee Philippe)

(August 24, 1941 – June 21, 2014) - Irene passed away peacefully at home on the first day of summer at the age of 72. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 51 years Rolly,  her son Dean Mainville, her special granddaughters Kaylee and Jenna Mainville; her sister Delia Gauthier (late John) of Timmins and her brother Richard Philippe (Fern) of Terrace, B.C. She leaves behind her aunt Yvonne Prince (Eddy) many nieces and nephews Diane Arcand of Timmins, Michael Arcand (Debbie) of B.C., Raymond Arcand (her godchild) of B.C., Tom Gauthier (Sandra) and Tammy Gauthier of Timmins, Jenny Philippe, Searle Philippe, Jessie Losier (Alain), of B.C. and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Irene, a devout catholic, was predeceased by her parents Joe and Ann Philippe, her sisters Joan Philippe, Josephine Philippe, Ann Philippe, her parents-in-law Leo and Laurette Mainville, her sister-in-law Jeannine Labrie and her brother-in-law Luc Labrie.

Irene was extremely proud and very fond of her two beautiful granddaughters, who were the joy of her life and took in all of their activities, especially ringette and dance recitals.  

The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Armstrong and Dr. Adesanya for their outstanding medical attention and compassion. Also a special thank you to CCAC, especially Muriel, Lisa and Nat for making Irene’s last three months as comfortable with their warm and compassionate approach. At her request cremation has taken place with a small private family committal service to be held at a later date at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. Funeral arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted with Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to St-Anthony’s of Padua Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
