GROULX, Bruce

(1948-2017) - The family announces with great sorrow his sudden and unexpected passing at the Timmins & District Hospital on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at the age of 68 years.  Beloved husband of Mavis Campbell.  Loving father of Shayne, Jason (Shannon) and Carrie Anne (Luc Martel).  Grandfather of Kayne, Selyna, Codey, Hope, Payten, Gage and great grandfather of Henry and Sylas.  Dear brother of Gary (Helene) and Ivan (Pirjo and brother-in-law of Joanne. He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  Predeceased by his parents Hiram & Marie Groulx, his brother Brian and sister Nancy.  Bruce graduated from TH&VS.  He worked for 45 years as a pipefitter and steamfitter with Local 800 in Sudbury and Local 46 in Toronto. Bruce was an avid trapper and enjoyed fishing and hunting.  The bush was his home away from home.  He belonged to many organizations such as Timmins Fur Council, Anglers and Hunters, Timmins Golden Nuggets Conservation, Ontario Fur Managers Federation and was a voting member of the North Bay Fur Harvesters. Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from the Miron-Wilson Chapel (Pastor Brynn Carson officiating). A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Remembrance donations to Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 7-9 and on Saturday morning from 9:30-11:15 am at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
