Jan. 5, 1926 - Aug. 30, 2014 - The family announces the peaceful passing of Adamo Fontecchio at the Golden Manor on Saturday, August 30, 2014. Adamo is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Mimina (Colasacco), daughters Marisa MacIvor (Ross), Nadia Luketich (Stephens) and cherished and adoring grand-daughters Mallory MacIvor and Martina Luketich. Adamo and his wife Mimina immigrated to Canada in 1951 from Capo D’Aqua, Italy. Most of his working career was spent at the McIntyre and Pamour Mines as a hardworking and reliable pipe fitter. In his spare time Adamo took great pride in planting and cultivating his garden. Adamo was an excellent cook and enjoyed making homemade wine and Italian sausage. He looked forward to working and relaxing at the cottage. Above all, his pride and providing for his family brought him happiness. Our special husband, father and Nono will be greatly missed, but knowing he went home to reunite with his family brings us peace and comfort. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Special Care at the Golden Manor , who gave their utmost efficient care and support to Adamo. The funeral service will be held in the Lessard-Stephens Funeral Home chapel on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 2:30 pm.
