After a short but valiant battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Evan Findlay on Wednesday November 10, 2021 at Sudbury Health Sciences North Hospital. John was born on June 24, 1974 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Parents Evan Findlay (Christine) and Penny Findlay (late).
John leaves behind his loving wife, Nancy Dery-Findlay. The two were married in August 2021 surrounded by their closest family and friends.
John will be missed by his siblings Marsha (Ron), Susan (Dan), and David. As well as his children, grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
John had a fulfilling career as a long hole driller. When he wasn’t working, you could find him out on the lake with a fishing pole in his hand. He was often accompanied by his fur baby, Molly. John also enjoyed spending time at the Basswood Lake camp with his family. He will be remembered for the many fish fry that took place during his visits there.
Sincere appreciation to the staff at the Lady Dunn Health Centre in Wawa, SAH, and Sudbury HSN ICU that helped care for John and provided support and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to take place at a later date.
