At his residence in Iron Bridge on November 13, 2021 after a lengthy illness, Mr. Rick Billings in his 71st year, passed with his beloved wife of 48 years, Marilyn at his side. Son of the late Jack and Loretta Billings of Chapleau. Dear Father of Elizabeth and Anthony Hotte, Little Rapids and Margaret and Christopher Cooke of Sarnia. Dear grandfather of Brooke of London and Benjamin and Claire of Sarnia. Brother of Michael Billings (Dawn) of Pickering and Timothy Billings (Leanne) of Chapleau and the late Rose Mae Billings and the late Marie Edwards (Jim). Brother-in-law of Sharon Lane (late Kenneth) of Iron Bridge and the late Wayne Eaket. Uncle of Melissa Brock, Jason Lane, Christie Stone, Victoria Gibson Billings, Jack Billings, Amanda Billings, and Bradley Billings.

Rick attended Ecole Sacre Coeur and graduated from Chapleau High School. In May of 1973, he graduated from Lakehead University as a Forestry Technician. From a young age Rick enjoyed working outdoors and joined the Junior Ranger program as a youth, and later became a Foreman for the summer program. He was employed by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Chapleau District for several years and worked many of the programs. In 1988 he decided that a career change would be in order and moved to Bruce Mines and took up farming. In 2005 he retired from farming and moved to Iron Bridge. He loved animals and is greatly missed by his pets Duke, Copper and Merry Weather.

The family would like to thank my sister Sharon, our neighbours Chad, Christine, Nyles, Stephane, Colleen and Gabbie, PSW’s Janet and Pam, respiratory tech Laccey, nurses Stephanie and Karla, N.P. Natalie and Dr’s Berg and Beuhner for their support and care.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beggs Funeral Home in Thessalon on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 between 2pm and 5pm. A private service will be held at the Bellingham United Church followed by burial at Bellingham Cemetery.
