COPENHAGEN — Kyle Turris has joined Canada's hockey team at the 2018 IIHF World Championship.
The 28-year-old centre was available after his Nashville Predators were eliminated by the Winnipeg Jets in seven games in the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Turris, who acquired by Nashville in a trade with the Ottawa Senators midway through this past regular season, had three assists in 13 playoff appearances with Nashville.
This is his second appearance with Team Canada at the world championships, having played in the 2014 tournament. He also helped Canada to gold at the 2008 world junior tournament.
Canada's roster now stands at 25 players: three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 14 forwards.
