Swans return to Porcupine Lake (4 photos)

Birds met with ice on annual migration stop

It's an icy welcome to the area for trumpeter swans this week.

The swans are known to stop in the Porcupine Lake area as part of their annual migration.

This week, three of the birds were spotted on the ice at Porcupine Lake.

People can submit trumpeter swan sightings to Wye Marsh online here. The information helps track the health and movements of swans and is also sent to Trumpeter Swan Restoration Program volunteers.
