Two youth who were spotted wearing their helmets are riding away from summer with new bikes.

Six-year-old Oryan Lemieux and eight-year-old Kylee Desilets were the winners of Timmins Police Service's Helmet's On public safety campaign. In the adult category, Janis Salvador won a car detailing from James Used.

Throughout the summer, officers issued ballots to riders who were seen wearing a properly fitted bike helmet or was properly complying and obeying bike safety regulations.

More than 300 ballots were issued, with over 250 being returned for the draw. Timmins Police say it is the best public response to the program since it started.
