Once again this year the Timmins Police Service is actively recruiting for a “Chief for a Day”.

The winner will be chosen among applicants who are in grades 4 to 6 at any Timmins primary school, English or French speaking.

Applicants can drop off their application to the front desk at the Timmins Police building or via e- mail at [email protected].

The successful applicant will be at the helm of the Timmins Police Service for a day during Police Week which runs from May 15 to the 21. Exact date will be determined.

Chief John Gauthier adds “I’m looking forward to a bit of a break and am eager to hand over policing responsibilities to the successful student who applies”.

Duties will include touring all areas of police facilities, riding in a fully marked cruiser, participating in a media conference and having lunch with Chief John Gauthier.
