(MOONBEAM, ON.) – On July 18, 2013, at approximately 3:00 pm, the Kapuskasing Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single bus collision on Hwy 581, just north of the town of Moonbeam.
The police investigation revealed that a bus carrying 41 children and 10 adults from a Timmins YMCA group was travelling southbound on Hwy 581 when it lost control, collided with the ditch and rolled onto its side.
Nine children, one YMCA councillor and the bus driver were transported by EMS to the Kapuskasing Sensenbrenner hospital with minor injuries.
The OPP is conducting an investigation in their effort to determine the cause of the collision.
