Woman charged after police investigation into fatal pedestrian crash

A Timmins woman has been charged after an investigation into a fatal pedestrian crash last month.

The morning of July 17, a 70-year-old man was hit by a truck at the intersection of Pine Street North and Algonquin Boulevard. He later died in hospital.

Natalie Moore, 43, of Timmins has been charged with careless driving causing death. According to Timmins Police, she has been issued a summons to attend provincial court in Timmins Sept. 26. 

Timmins Police say the investigation was "comprehensive and intensely detailed". It included officers from traffic services, criminal investigations division and the forensic identification unit. 

Police say the charges are based on the outcome of the investigation and comprehensive consultation with the Crown Attorney's office.
