A winter tradition is making its return next month.

Le Centre culturel La Ronde’s winter carnival is being held Feb. 11 to 23 and will feature activities for kids and adults.

Some of the highlights include a snow sculpture contest for schools and a window-decorating competition for local businesses. The theme is Bonhomme Carnaval.

The registration deadline is Feb. 1.

A mixed boot hockey tournament is down at Full Beard Brewing Feb. 15 and 16. The cost is $20 per person, and includes a ticket to Dayv Poulin’s show at the brewery Feb. 16.

For more details or to register, contact Eric Paquette at 705-363-8902.

If you’re not registered in the tournament, tickets to Poulin’s show are $15 for members and $20 for non-members.

Comedian Jean-Michel Anctil is at Ecole secondaire catholique Theriault for a show Friday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50 for members or $60 for non-members.

The kids are going to want to be at the SAMAJAM show Feb. 23 at 11 a.m.

The interactive event is being held at the La Ronde Cultural Centre gymnasium, 120 Kent Ave. It’s free for members and $10 for non-members.

Bonhomme will be unveiled Saturday, Feb. 23 at 6 p.m.

A dinner, show and dance is being held at Cedar Meadows Resort. The cost is $45 for members and $55 for non-members.

Before Bonhomme can be unveiled, someone needs to be chosen for the honour.

La Ronde members who would like to be a candidate or know someone who would be a good candidate can call 705-267-8401.

The three candidates will be announced at the Jan. 29 board meeting.
