That’s a wrap on the Create the Mayor’s Christmas Card campaign. With 299 entries received, the selection committee had the difficult task of choosing the cards to be featured. Although the original post stated that there would be three cards chosen, the committee was not able to choose only three. Five cards were selected to be the Mayor’s annual Christmas card.

“The amount of cards received was overwhelming. There was so much thought and love poured into these cards. We have wonderfully talented young artist in the City of Timmins. I imagine that it was difficult to narrow it down to five cards as they were all so beautiful,” said Mayor Pirie. “With the success of this year’s cards, it is clear that this is something that we would like to continue annually. Being able to share the artist’s work, both through Facebook and at the Timmins Museum, is a great way to showcase all the talent we have. Thank you to everyone that took the time to create a card.”

Every day on Facebook, the City of Timmins will be showcasing a series of cards that were submitted, as a Mayor’s Advent Calendar. All 299 cards are also on display at the Timmins Museum and will remain there for the month of December. We encourage you to stop by and see the cards in person for some holiday cheer.
