It's time to get your junk to the curb.

The residential curbside spring collection runs May 22 to June 1.

Two collection crews will be working, a 40-yard bin will be set up at the German landfill (near Kettle Lakes Provincial Park), and tipping fees at the landfill sites will be waived on the collection days.

Here are a few things to know about the spring clean-up:

• For volume, each residence is limited to no more than what would fit in a standard half-ton pick up truck. The volume is four feet wide, by eight feet long, and two feet high.

• Don't put your garbage bins or any containers you don't want collected out. All containers with waste will be collected.

• For health and safety, mattresses and box springs must be securely wrapped in plastic.

• Leaves and yard waste are included in the pick up. Lawn and leaf waste should be bagged in compostable bags, not regular plastic bags. Clean wood should be in a separate pile from the rest of the materials.

• Items that aren't acceptable will be left behind and the homeowner should removed it from the street within 48 hours.

The items not collected during the clean-up are: concrete and asphalt, batteries, tires, electronics, propane tanks, white goods or items that contain Freon, recyclables, paints, liquids, fuels, chemicals, mattresses or box springs that aren’t securely wrapped.

A household hazardous waste collection for the some of the items not included in the spring clean-up will be held June 16.
