Wednesday, July 2nd, 2014 -  The Public Utilities Department wishes to inform the residents of Timmins that normal water usage has returned and the water ban has been lifted. For the entire summer period, it is important for all residents to follow the City’s watering bylaw which states that outdoor use of water is only permitted on ODD or on EVEN days.  When a calendar date is ODD, residences with an ODD numbered address are allowed outdoor water use. When a calendar date is EVEN, residences with an EVEN numbered address are allowed outdoor water use. The City will be enforcing this bylaw and we will have bylaw officers occasionally patrolling our streets to ensure compliance.

Kind regards,

Public Utilities Department

Friday, June 27th, 2014 -  The Public Utilities Department will be maintaining the WATER BAN  over the weekend as dry conditions are forecasted and the Water Filtration Plant continues to see a high demand of water.  We have seen slight reductions in total daily consumption, however not to the extent that we have adequate volumes to deal with any emergency situations.

The senior management team will be tracking water consumptions over the weekend and we will be meeting on Monday morning to provide a further update.

A more detailed news release will be provided by our Communication Group.
