Warrants lead to drug charges for two Kirkland Lake residents

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Sept. 17, 2018, members of the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Clandestine Lab Investigative Team (CLIRT), USAR CBRNE Response Team (UCRT) with assistance of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and Kirkland Lake OPP executed a search warrant at a residence in Kirkland Lake.

During the investigation, undisclosed amounts of methamphetamine and a large amount of substances used in the production of methamphetamine were seized.

As a result of the investigation, Jamie Lee Briscoe, age 27 of Kirkland Lake; and Luc Lacoste, age 41 of Kirkland Lake, have been charged with:

  • Possession of anything for use in, production of/or trafficking in Schedule 1 or Schedule III Substance - Methamphetamine, contrary to section 7.1(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
  • Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance - methamphetamine, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

The accused have been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
