A 30-year-old Timmins man wanted by Timmins Police Service was arrested by Greater Sudbury Police Service when he was found driving a pickup truck reported stolen in February.

Officers saw the truck on March 2 at about 4:30 p.m. on Cedar Street. Officers pulled over the vehicle to speak with the lone occupant. He did not have identification and gave a name to police that later proved to be false.

He was arrested for possession of stolen property and taken into custody. Through further investigation, his true identity was discovered and it was learned this man was wanted by Timmins Police Service.

He was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today regarding his arrest for possession of stolen property, obstructing police (for providing a false name to police) and two counts of breaching his probation order.
