Walk in the Park: Hersey Lake Conservation Area (9 photos)

You can swim, hike or enjoy a picnic

Just north of the city centre is a popular year-round spot.

Hersey Lake Conservation Area features a beach, hiking trails, picnic areas and public washrooms.

While there is a maintained beach area, it is not supervised. If you're taking a hike, the trails are clearly marked with way-finding signs and maps along the way.

The 226-hectare conservation area is owned by the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority. To get there, take Highway 655 to Boychuk Drive and follow the road to the parking area.
