Learn more about Northeastern Ontario and what it has to offer in the upcoming virtual webinar hosted by New Canadians.

The session is a part of Café New Canadians virtual event series featuring experts and immigrants who discuss various topics that are important to newcomers.

Hosted by New Canadians’ reporter Shruti Dargan, the next webinar is today, July 29, at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Guest speakers will include Timmins and District Multicultural Centre’s Executive Director Deborah Robertson, an executive director of Far Northeast Training Board Julie Joncas, an economic development officer at the City of Temiskaming Shores James Franks as well as Raj Jadeja and Molly Myagmarbat.

They will share their experiences living and working in the region and will discuss topics such as cost of living, education and employment opportunities, available support services and resources, community organizations and top activities and attractions in the area.

Myagmarbat, who moved to Timmins from Mongolia in 2015, works at Lake Shore Gold. She said she likes living in a small community, away from a busy “metropolitan atmosphere”, and enjoys the outdoor life.

“Today, I will talk about how beautiful summertime is. If you’re an outdoor person, there are so many opportunities, so many lakes and public launch accesses everywhere,” she said. “I love wintertime, I do a lot of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.”
