Vehicle found parked on sidewalk. Driver charged with impaired

COCHRANE - On Feb. 15, 2019 at approximately 2:45 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a suspicious vehicle that was parked on the sidewalk on Sixth Avenue in the Town of Cochrane, Ont.

Police investigation revealed that the male driver was (allegedly) impaired by drug.

Clinton Crawford, 47 years old of Taykwa Tagamou Nation, Ont., has been charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs contrary to section 320.14(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cochrane, Ont., on March 12, 2019 to answer to the charge.

The driver was served with a 90 day administrative driver's licence suspension (ADLS) and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Police are asking the public to call the authorities if they see someone getting behind the wheel after having consumed intoxicating substances.
