UPDATE – Monday, October 6th, 2014 (3:30pm) - The Traffic Department attempted to re-activate the traffic signals on Cedar Street this morning.  Unfortunately, due to the downtown hydro vault project, we are without power at the intersection of Third and Cedar. A meeting with Hydro One has confirmed that work has to take place inside the hydro vault in front of Gibby’s Tavern before power can be provided to the signals at Cedar and Third.  We do not expect to have power available at this location for another 4 to 6 weeks. We apologize for this delay and will keep the public informed of any changes.

Monday, October 6th, 2014 - The Traffic Department wishes to advise motorists that traffic signals on Cedar Street will be re-activated today or tomorrow. The traffic signals at the corner of Third & Cedar and at Second & Cedar were bagged during a five month pilot project.  The City will be removing the bags and re-activate the signals. In addition, we will program the signals to flash in an all-red mode between the hours of 6pm to 6am (similar to Pine Street signals). We ask motorists and pedestrians to pay attention over the next couple of days.
