Special weather statement in effect for:

Little Abitibi - Kesagami Lake
Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls

Snow continues today.

Snow has arrived as expected and will continue today. Total snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm are likely, with a few pockets of 10 to 15 cm possible especially near the Quebec border.

In addition to today's snowfall, there is a risk of a brief but intense snow squall as a sharp Arctic cold front moves through. Visibility may suddenly drop to near zero with this snow squall. Snow squall watches and warnings may be issued if necessary.

Road conditions are likely to be poor at times. Motorists are urged to exercise caution.

The snow may taper off for a few hours tonight in the wake of the cold front, However, more snow with additional accumulation is expected Monday as a disturbance from the Midwestern States crosses Northeastern Ontario.
