Union Gas supports Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department with $1,500 grant

FAUQUIER, ON - Union Gas helps the Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department purchase safety equipment, courtesy of a $1,500 grant awarded today.

Norm Ellerton, Union Gas interim utility service manager and Jeremy Godard, Union Gas utility services representative presented the cheque to Luc Albert, Fauquier-Strickland deputy fire chief today at the Fauquier fire hall.

The Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department will utilize the grant to purchase a new gate valve for the pumper and carbon monoxide detectors.

“At Union Gas, we are committed to the safety of our employees and our communities,” said Ellerton. “And we show that commitment by investing in local fire departments whose fire prevention, education and fire suppression programs help us all stay safer.”

“I would like to thank Union Gas for their generous grant,” said Paul Cloutier, Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department fire chief. “This is very important to us and the safety of the people in our community.”

For over 100 years, Union Gas has been privileged to work in more than 400 Ontario communities.

About Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department

Fauquier-Strickland Fire Department is a volunteer fire department including 17 volunteers which serves Fauquier-Strickland Township. 

The department is responsible for fire prevention, administration of Fire Code and issuing applicable burn permits required for brush piles, incinerators and open fires. 

Provides fire safety and prevention education.

Fire halls are located in Fauquier and Strickland to better serve the community.
