The Timmins Police Service executed two arrest warrants yesterday which resulted in two persons being held for bail hearings. While completing neighborhood patrols in the north end of the city early yesterday afternoon, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized an alleged wanted person.

The woman was stopped and interviewed by the police in order to confirm her identity. Melissa McGiffen, 35 of Timmins, was taken into custody once the validity of the warrant had been confirmed. She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

Additionally, while completing follow up on an unrelated matter early this morning, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized an alleged wanted person. The man was stopped and interviewed by the police in order to confirm his identity. Brandon McKee, 24 of Timmins, was arrested and taken into custody once the validity of the warrant had been confirmed. He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
