Two Timmins residents charged in robbery investigation

At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 17, police responded to a report of a theft of several items by two individuals. Information received by responding officers indicated that upon being confronted by staff, along with members of the public, alleged threats were made by a female suspect.

An alleged assault was also committed by a male suspect as he attempted to leave the store.

Police attended the scene and located the individuals in question. The stolen items were recovered by police. As a result, two individuals now face several charges.

Ashley Williams, 20, of Timmins was charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, utter threats to cause bodily harm, and fail to comply with undertaking (x2), pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada.

She was further charged with having liquor in an open container in a public place, and consuming liquor in a public place pursuant to the Liquor License Act of Ontario.

Jeremy John Nakogee, 19, of Timmins was charged with robbery, possession of property obtained by crime, and fail to comply with recognizance pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged with entering premises when entry is prohibited pursuant to the Trespass to Property Act of Ontario.

Both individuals were held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today, Oct. 18.
