Two new wildfires in the northeast region

Both fires are not yet under control

There were two new wildland fires confirmed in the northeast region by late afternoon today by the Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry.

The new fires, which are the lone active fires in the region, include:

  • Chapleau 9 is a 0.2 hectare fire located 25 kilometres west of Highway 144, and five kilometres northwest of Biscotasi Lake. It is not under control.
  • Timmins 6 is a two hectare fire located five kilometres east of Scraggy Lake. It is not under control.
