Two Motorcycles Downed at Barbers Bay

On September 8th 2013, the Timmins Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two motorcycles.

At approximately 7:35PM, officers attended the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Municipal Road which is located East of the City of Timmins. Through an investigation it was revealed that three motorcyclists were travelling Northbound on Municipal Road when the second driver lost control of her motorcycle striking a guardrail on the east side of the road near the Barbers Bay bridge. This motorcycle came to rest on the road and was struck by a third motorcycle rider who was following some distance behind.

Connaught Volunteer Firefighters provided initial medical response.

The initial driver involved in the motor vehicle collision was transported to the Timmins and District Hospital with serious leg injuries. The second male driver was also transported to the Timmins and District Hospital with injuries to his ankle.

Speed, road and weather were not factors in the incident No charges will be laid.
