Two injured in suspicious fire

IROQUOIS FALLS – At approximately 2:50 a.m. on October 5, 2015, members of the South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call regarding a fire at a residence on Reynolds Street in Iroquois Falls.

Police, Iroquois Falls Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) all responded.

An 82-year-old male and a 73-year-old female from Iroquois Falls were home at the time of the fire.

Both are being treated at the hospital for serious but non-life threatening injuries. 

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues jointly by the South Porcupine OPP Crime Unit, the North East Region OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS) and the Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM).

The fire has been deemed to be suspicious and anyone with information about this incident is asked to immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
