Two charged in Kirkland Lake break-in

KIRKLAND LAKE - On Monday Jan. 14, 2019 members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence on McKelvie Avenue in the Town of Kirkland Lake, Ontario.  

As a result of the police investigation, two people were arrested and charged.

Jamie Schraeder, age 40, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario is charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC, and
  • Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

He was released on a promise to appear to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on Feb. 7, 2019.

Alicia Gauthier, age 31, of Kirkland Lake, Ontario is charged with the following:

  • Break, enter a dwelling house with intent to commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Mischief under $5000, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC, and
  • Fail to comply with probation order x3, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC.

She was released on a promise to appear to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, on Feb. 7, 2019.
