Two arrested for breach of conditions

Police responded to separate incidents regarding breach of conditions

In separate occurrences over the weekend, the Timmins Police Service located person in breach of conditions imposed by the courts and made arrests based on their findings. During the morning hours of Friday, July 6, the Timmins Police responded to a suspicious persons call and located a male party known to them to be subject to strict conditions based on a bail hearing on assault charges held in June of this year.

The court imposed conditions were confirmed by the Timmins Police Service and the male person was taken into custody.

Pharaoh Tookate, 34, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • Fail to comply with recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • 2 counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.

During the afternoon hours of Saturday, July 7, the Timmins Police responded to a report of a person in distress in the north end of the city. Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers located a female party known to them to be subject to strict conditions based on previous court appearances.

The applicable conditions were confirmed by the Timmins Police Service and the female person was taken into custody after a medical assessment had been completed.

Amanda Adams, 23, of Timmins has been charged with:

  • 2 counts of fail to comply with recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • 2 counts of fail to comply with undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
