Timmins Transit announced today that the annual Seniors Christmas Lights tour will continue again this year.  A convoy of City buses will depart Ross Avenue near the Timmins and District Hospital at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday December 15th for a tour to see the city’s brightly decorated houses.

According to Catherine Verreault, Manager of Transit Operations, “this annual tradition continues to be extremely well received by seniors in our community.  It has been a highlight of the season for both the transit volunteers and the seniors who take part in the Christmas Light Tour.”

Although Timmins Transit supplies the buses, transit staff donates their time to ensure the tour’s success. “Christmas is a special time of year; one that usually brings out the best of people” added tour coordinator and transit dispatcher Marlice MacLeod. “Without the generous support from staff volunteers, this “act of kindness” would not be possible. It’s our way of thanking the senior citizens of our community for their support of transit and their overall contribution to our City”, she continued.

If you are a senior and would like to join the tour, please meet us at the Timmins Transit Terminal and a bus will pick you up at 6:00 pm.

Help Timmins Transit spread the Christmas spirit on December 15th and turn on your Christmas lights at 6:00 pm, because the Timmins Transit Seniors' Christmas Lights Tour is coming to your neighbourhood!
