Trouble pulling out of driveway leads to impaired charge

The Timmins Police Service was alerted to an incident where a South Porcupine man was having difficulty maneuvering his vehicle out of a Shamrock Street driveway during the late afternoon hours of Aug. 28.

Timmins Police officers responded and interviewed the driver of a Nissan SUV.

Based on their observations, the man was arrested and taken into custody to complete Intoxilyzer testing procedures.

As a result, a 32-year-old South Porcupine man has been charged with:

  • One count of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of Operate Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Mgs of Alcohol in 100 Mls of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody and must attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on Sept. 13 to answer to the charges laid against him.
