Traffic stop leads to possession charges

MATHESON - On Sept. 19, 2017 at 7:10 p.m., the Matheson Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11 in Taylor Township, north of Matheson.

As a result of the investigation the OPP have charged two people.

Travis Plant, 23, of Iroquois Falls, Ont. is charged with the following:

  • Two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA),
  • Possession of property obtained by crime - over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and
  • Two counts of fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the CC.

He remains in custody.

Also charged is Raeanne Buller-Goulet, 19, of Iroquois Falls, Ont. The charges include:

  • Possession of schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - other drugs, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.
  • Possession of proceeds by crime over $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC.

She was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins, Ont. on Oct. 31, 2017.
