Traffic stop leads to drug charges

HEARST - On March 16, 2019, at approximately 9:15 p.m., members of the James Bay Detachments of the Ontario Provincial Police, conducted a traffic stop on 11th Street in the Town of Hearst, Ontario, which led to drug charges.

Police seized suspected Methamphetamine and Cocaine with a combined estimated street value of $1000.

Stephane Godbout 41-years-old, of Hearst, Ontario, has been charged with the following offences:

  • Possession of a schedule I substance -  methamphetamine contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA), and
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ontario, on April 24, 2019, to answer to the charges.
