Trees being cleared at a property on the back road are making way for potential new development.
Work is ongoing at a site on the northeast corner of Vipond Road and Gold Mine Road.
According to a City of Timmins notice, there's a proposal for a tractor-trailer fleet parking lot and future maintenance shop on the property. The applicant is Calanit Inc.
There's a proposal to rezone the property to Light Industrial Class from the current Rural.
A public meeting is being held for the proposed zoning change on Wednesday, June 8 at 3 p.m. in council chambers at city hall.
