If you're looking to give back this holiday season, there are a number of ways to donate this weekend.

There are a couple of toy drives underway.

Today (Saturday, Dec. 7) at the Bargain Shop, 414 Algonquin Blvd. E., the Timmins Police and victim services are collecting gifts for children in need during the store's regular hours. There will be hot chocolate and treats, entertainment and prizes.

After the celebration, the gifts will be sorted to hand out to families in need.

People who are looking to to pick up a gift for their child can stop by the Victim Services office at 185 Spruce St. S. from Monday, Dec. 9 to Friday, Dec. 20 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services and Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board (CDSSAB) are hosting the 8th annual Toy Drive Sunday, Dec. 8 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They'll be collecting new, unwrapped toys, gifts and cash doantions in the parking lots at Canadian Tire and Walmart.

The goal is to fill a crib with items for babies, such as diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, bottles, onesies, and toys for infants and babies. They are also looking to fill a hockey net with items for tweens and teens, such as electronics, hygiene and beauty products, hoodies, backpacks, books, board games, and sporting goods.
