The Culinary Tourism Alliance (CTA) in partnership with Destination Northern Ontario and the City of Timmins, is hosting the opening reception for the upcoming Northern Ontario Tourism Summit.

The CTA has brought together six unique businesses committed to sourcing and celebrating Northern Ontario ingredients for the opening reception. The event will be an outstanding showcase of the best local food and drink in Timmins and is proudly sponsored by Northeastern Ontario Tourism.

Taking place at Timmins Museum National Exhibition Centre, the Opening Reception will highlight culinary champions of the region including Feast On® certified restaurant Radical Gardens, as well as Toffanello's Fresh Pasta, Dabrowski's Smoked Meats Ltd. alongside local breweries Compass Brewing and Full Beard Brewing. They will also be joined by Feast On Preferred Purveyor Top Shelf Distillers from Perth, Ont.

"Timmins and Northern Eastern Ontario are just at the beginning of our Culinary journey. We have a great selection of wild and local ingredients and some wonderful local producers up here. Come and feast North with us” said Brianna Humphrey, Chef and Co-owner of Radical Gardens.

Also on the agenda is a maple toffee on snow experience provided by Le Bec Sucré, in addition to an Indigenous Culinary Activation which includes a ceremonial fire, traditional food items, as well as seven fire dancers. This exclusive reception aims to celebrate what makes Timmins such a unique and vibrant culinary community with the potential to attract food tourists from across the province - and beyond.

“We believe strongly that showcasing regional food and drink is the best way to create pride of place and true connection to the culture and history of an area. We are very proud of the businesses that have come together to create this unique taste of place at the Northern Ontario Tourism Summit - and we think the delegates will be proud too” said Agatha Podgorski, Director of Community Engagement at the Culinary Tourism Alliance.

The Northern Ontario Tourism Summit is happening Monday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Timmins, Ont. The Opening Reception is only open to registered delegates of the Summit who are in possession of delegate credentials.
