Special weather statement in effect for:
- Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls
Rain at times heavy is likely to continue over a swath of regions from near Lake Superior towards Timmins tonight through Friday. Occasional thunderstorm activity is likely as well. Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are expected by the time the rain tapers off later Friday.
For areas that receive several thunderstorms, even higher amounts are possible. The area is being monitored for potential rainfall warnings.
At this point, it appears that the majority of the rain will fall overnight through to Friday morning.
