A Moosonee school has received a warm donation.

Bishop Belleau School recently received winter coats, hats, gloves and mittens donated by Dumoulin's in Timmins, said the Northeastern Catholic District School Board (NCDSB) in a news release.

The items were shipped to the community by train, with Ontario Northland covering the shipping costs.

"Ontario Northland is always looking to help make a difference in local communities and region we serve. We are pleased to support the complementary shipping of winter garments to Bishop Belleau Catholic School," said Rob Lecours, express freight supervisor, in the statement.

NCDSB director of education Tricia Stefanic Weltz said the board was overwhelmed by the kind gesture and that the students will benefit greatly from the donation.
