A news release was issued today by the Timmins Police concerned the arrest of Marcel Lalonde for a break in on Birch St.

Please said the arrest of the 63-year-old man was not related to Wednesday's break in at Canadian Tire.

Police said they will keep the public informed on their investigation into the Canadian Tire incident.

The break in and subsequent 18-hour standoff was one of the top stories in Canada yesterday and this morning.
