The Criminal Investigation Section of the Timmins Police Service is currently investigating a shooting incident which took place sometime between the hours of 11 p.m. Oct. 13 and 1 a.m. this morning.
The incident occurred in the laneway adjacent to Mountjoy Street North at 6th Avenue. A male victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene was processed by members of the Forensic Identification Unit, with assistance from patrol officers. Public safety is not a concern at this time as it is believed the individuals involved are known to each other.
As the investigation is in its early stages, no further information is available.
