Timmins police arrested five wanted persons this weekend

One faces several weapons and drug charges as a result of police investigation

The Timmins Police Service has arrested a number of persons stemming from separate incidents involving persons allegedly wanted on the strength of arrest warrants.

During the late morning hours of Friday, June 21 and while completing patrols of the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized a male person known to the police as being wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant.

Once the warrant was confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service. As a result of this incident, Saunders Koosees, 39, of Timmins, was taken into custody. He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charges laid against him.

In a separate incident during the evening hours of Friday, June 21, and while completing general patrols of the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized a female person known to the police as being wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant. Once the warrant was confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service. As a result of this incident, Jena Sears, 29, of Timmins, was taken into custody. She remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charge laid against her.

During the evening hours of Friday, June 21 and while completing verifications of compliance with court imposed conditions, a Timmins Police Service officer located and recognized a male person known to the police as being wanted on the strength of a revocation of his surety. Once the revocation was confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service.

As a result of this incident, Dakota Trumble, 19, of Timmins, was taken into custody. He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the original charge laid against him.

In a separate incident during the early morning hours of Saturday June 22, and while completing a traffic stop in the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized a male person known to the police as being bound by conditions in relation to a probation order. Once the warrant was confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service. As a result of this incident, Keven Prevost-Bouchard, 32, of Timmins, was charged with:

  • Breach of recognizance contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Three counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

He was released from custody but must attend at Provincial Court in Timmins on June 25 to answer to the charges laid against him.

In a separate incident during the early morning hours of Sunday June 23, and while completing a traffic stop in the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized a male person known to the police as being wanted on the strength of an arrest warrant. Once the warrant was confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service. The accused was found to be in possession of a firearm and a quantity of narcotics.

As a result of this incident, Gilles Vachon, 30, of Timmins, was charged with:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Three counts of possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • Resist peace officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Carrying a concealed weapon contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

He remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against him.
