Timmins man recognized by police, faces drug charge

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man stemming from an incident which occurred at the intersection of Balsam Street and Algonquin Boulevard during the evening hours of Sunday, June 16.

While completing patrols of the downtown core of Timmins, a Timmins Police Service officer observed and recognized a male person as being allegedly in breach of conditions imposed by the courts in keeping with a Conditional Sentence Order.

Once the conditions (curfew) had been confirmed, the suspect was arrested by the Timmins Police Service and found to be in possession of a quantity of a controlled substance.

As a result of this incident, Conrad Gray, 25, of Timmins, has been charged with:
    •    possession of a controlled substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against him.
