The Big Event is back in Timmins.
After a two-year hiatus for the pandemic, the Canadian Mining Expo is at the McIntyre Community Centre June 8 and 9. This year's slogan is Where the World Comes to Explore.
Here's what you need to know about the event.
Hours
It runs Wednesday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the official opening ceremony at 11 a.m. Thursday, Juney 9 it is open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
What to expect
There are over 400 indoor and outdoor displays featuring the latest mining technology. The First Nations Partnership Pavilion is located in the curling rink. The live demonstrations, Projects in the Pipeline conference and Tech Talks conference will be streamed live online.
Jackleg Drilling Championship Competitions
The popular event on June 8 features three categories — dignitaries at 11:30 a.m., women's novice jackleg at 12:30 p.m., and professional jackleg at 3 p.m. Registration starts at 11 a.m.
