Next competition in Waterloo

The Timmins High and Vocational School robotics team was on the road to put their skills to the test over the weekend.

Team 4704 Northern Lights Robotics competed at the FIRST Robotics Competition Ontario district event at Durham College in Oshawa, with the two-day competition featured nearly 1,000 high school students from across Ontario.

“After the first day of qualifiers, the team was ranked third out of 37 teams competing,” said TH&VS principal Greg Vincze. “The team was able to make it to the quarterfinals but lost two out of three matches to their opponents by a small margin of three points in each game.”

The next competition for the team is in Waterloo from March 22 to 24 for the Waterloo district competition.
