Temiskaming Traffic Complaint Results in Charges + So Po OPP News

(COBALT, ON) Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an erratic driving complaint on October 18, 2013 at approximately 12:47 a.m. Police located the suspect vehicle on Silver Street.

(COBALT, ON)  Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an erratic driving complaint on October 18, 2013 at approximately 12:47 a.m.

Police located the suspect vehicle on Silver Street.  Upon checking the status of the driver, the 25-year-old male was arrested.  Further investigation resulted in several charges.

Ryan WRIGHT of Dymond Township is charged with:

·         Impaired Driving by Drug

·         Unauthorized Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Weapon

·         Carry Concealed Weapon (two counts)

·         Possession of Marihuana

·         Possession of Methamphetamine

The accused will appear in Haileybury Ontario Court of Justice on December 13, 2013.

 

TRAFFIC COMPLAINT LEADS TO CHARGE

(SOUTH PORCUPINE) – The South Porcupine Ontario Provincial Police has charged a Matheson operator of a commercial motor vehicle with a traffic offence stemming from a traffic complaint received regarding a dump truck spilling its load of granular gravel onto the highway yesterday (Oct 22), on Hwy 101, in Whitney Twp, east of Timmins.

An officer with the OPP’s Highway Safety Division had occasion to locate the vehicle that was the subject of the complaint received from a local motorist.

The vehicle’s driver was stopped and interviewed at the roadside and his vehicle’s safety equipment was inspected.

Based on the investigative measures undertaken by the OPP officer,

Stephen TUCKER, 51, of Matheson, Ontario, has been charged with Operate Commercial Motor Vehicle with Insecure Load contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The vehicle was allowed to continue once the load had been properly covered as required by statute.
